Unknown amount of years ago:
Records show that the village named Benicoeur was originally constructed by command of a lion furre by the name Odin Nordhaven. He and his followers were pioneers looking to settle down by creating a trading post. It is believed that one or more of his disciples had incredible magical skill as they had created a complex magical ward along the perimeter as well as an intricate system of wards to allow the chosen to use magic unhindered within.
Unknown amount of years ago, assumed to be between 20 and 25:
For reasons that will perhaps always remain unknown, Nordhaven and all residents passed away or departed the village. Over time it had fallen into disrepair and was lost to civilization.
12 years ago:
Benicoeur was discovered by a group of adventurers led by Mirrum during an expedition from the village of Goldwyn. The team partially restored the village and declared it a sanctuary for travelers due to the magical ward.
11 years ago:
Mirrum, who was declared de-facto leader of the village found himself at odds with one of his companions: Hyuga Sourhyu, one who had assisted with the restoration financially. The small community split into two factions when it came to question whether he was fit to lead. After the heads of both parties came to blows and nearly killed each other in a decisive battle, Hyuga and his followers returned to their home city of Dagat Ahas.
8 years ago:
Mirrum and Hyuga had eventually reconciled to battle a common threat, the fallen Archangel, Redeemer. Details and so-called eye-witness of this battle are sketchy at the most, and neither has ever publicly spoken of the battle. Notably, in the time after the conflict, it is said that Mirrum's wife and children had disappeared from the public eye, as well as the magic ward of Benicoeur becoming inactive.
Recently:
Over the past few years, the village has slowly begun to fall into disrepair. There is rumor that Mirrum plans to abandon the village to a new generation, as the population begins to dip and its residents move on. Mirrum is seen less frequently, and day-to-day upkeep was delegated to the former village blacksmith, Tybolt, who refuses to hold any responsibility besides repair and maintenance. As time goes on, Mirrum seems to have abandoned his part in the village completely. With that, the winds of change may be in the air as the future of the village slowly comes into question.
